Is DNA modification possible?

Hi everyone.

You may have heard of DNA(Deoxyribonucleic acid) modification, if not then it plays a main role in our metabolism and growth as it stores all of our main information and helps us in our growth. As our technology is expanding further, we are trying to modify our DNA for medical purposes as some people claim that DNA modification can help in curing diseases.

The thing is, DNA modification can be used for many other things like increasing our growth, increasing our metabolism rate and of course it can also be used to modify DNA of other species into our DNA. For example, what if we take a lizard's DNA and put it in our own DNA then our growth and metabolism rate will of course get altered and we may start getting looks like a lizard, but there would be an issue for sure and that is called side effects.

If the DNA modification goes bad, then the side effects would be really dangerous as we may even lose our precious life or if it's successful then we can use DNA of other species or cure our diseases. DNA modification can help us in many ways and let's hope as our technology is expanding further, we may have a chance of getting a better future.
