Could the U.S defend itself against a real Godzilla attack?
Hi people.
You all may have watched the movie 'Godzilla' where there's a huge monster attacking Tokyo bay, they tried bombs, 50-caliber machine guns, volts of electricity and bombs dropped on this huge monster, but it never really had an affect.
However, that was the old technology the Japanese were using! Our technology has improved a lot since this old monster attacked Tokyo(In movie of course), but let's see if U.S could defend itself against these kinds of attacks(Let's hope Donald trump does not put a stop) instead we are going to look at their tactical advantage, military advantage, etc.. so let's get started.
1. Air assault: Well, as I mentioned below. Our technology has improved but would it have any affect on this huge monster? We can try using Air force's AH-64 Apache helicopters and F-15 fighter jets, but they would probably be useless on this huge monster.
2. Machine guns: Guns firing at a rate of 6,000 rounds per minute, but it would probably be like tiny bullets for the monster, however as a distraction this method would really work.
3. Bombers: Maybe they could nuke the monster and if not kill the monster at least or else just force him back into the ocean.
4. Nuclear bomb: Oh my god, this is the last decision anyone should ever take. A nuclear bomb may kill the monster but it would probably destroy half of the U.S and maybe the monster could even get more powerful with a nuclear bomb as shown in the movie.
5. Navy: The U.S navy is really powerful with their guns on their ships, I mean it isn't a pirate ship you know? The thing is the monster could crush these ships easily with just his feet.
6. Donald trump's wall: Let's hope we see the wall sooner, as he said he will build a great big wall of great quality. Maybe it can even stop Godzilla from entering the U.S?
So the real answer may be, the U.S would be able to defend itself against Godzilla but the damage done would be really extreme and it will take U.S years to develop again.
Thanks,
Dev.
